If you’re looking for the best hybrid bike of 2017 for commuting your way around town, or to work – then here it is. The Diamondback Edgewood is a perfect example of a wonderful bike. But what makes it so wonderful? Let’s take a look…
Diamondback Edgewood
All of the components of this bike are heavy duty, and still perform excellently. As a hybrid bicycle is used every day in many cases, it is incredibly important that maintenance will be as low as possible. Luckily for you, this Diamondback Mountain Bike is perfect for those criteria. You can easily cover around 40 kilometers a day on this bike, for months on end without needing to replace so much as a brake pad.
However, as with any bike – without proper maintenance, don’t expect the bike to work properly. You still need to keep tires pumped up to the PSI stated on the wall of each tire, and oil the chain regularly for optimum performance.
If a hybrid bike isn’t quite your style, why not take a look at the Diamondback Response XE?
What’s good about the Diamondback Mountain Bike?
In all fairness, nearly everything about this bike is perfect… Nearly. The comfort of this bike is excellent, without compromising on performance. If you have ever used a road bike for commuting, you’ll know what I mean. The wheels are large enough to ease the workload away from you, allowing you to get wherever you are going easily.
It is also incredibly light, which is wonderful for commuting. This means it can be easily carried onto a train, which many cyclists use regularly for commuting. This is because of the aluminum frame, which is strong while remaining incredibly lightweight.
The Shimano gear system allows for smooth gear changes regardless of the weather, or any other factors. This makes cycling a breeze, whether you’re on a gravel track, or a smooth road. Another great feature of the Diamondback Edgewood Hybrid Bicycle is the suspension; as it is designed for road use while commuting – the suspension is wonderfully designed to absorb the majority of impact that may be incurred from potholes – which are all too common these days.

What’s not good about the Diamondback Edgewood Hybrid Bicycle?
Unfortunately, nothing can be perfect. The pedals included with the Diamondback Edgewood Hybrid Bicycle offer minimal grip in bad weather, which is unfortunate. As many commuters know; whether it’s raining or sunny – you still have to get to work somehow… So you may want to upgrade the pedals on this bike, which is relatively easy and cheap to do.
The included instructions also lack detail, as they seem fairly generic.
The Verdict
Overall, the Diamondback Edgewood is an excellent hybrid bike. It packs in a tonne of premium features with a relatively mid-range price tag. The only negative point about this bike is the fact the pedals are bad quality, and so are the instructions.
